Though it encourages the wearing of woolens, I'm not a lover of winter. In southern Indiana the winter palette is mostly dirty grays, slushes, and muddy browns. While I keep my eyes open for a nice blue sky, the occasional cardinal, and a rare white snowfall, what my heart is really hunting for is the first red-breasted robin of spring.
