For our winter issue, Twist Collective asked our contributors where they look for colour while the northern hemisphere is tilted away from the sun. Click on their images below for their answers, and for links to their individual websites.

As a native Californian, the colors of winter are not much different from the colors of summer - just a bit more muted. After spending a considerable amount of time on the east coast though, I've come to appreciate the rich texture in a seemingly colorless landscape - the shades of white after a fresh snowfall, the browns and greys of a stripped forest in hibernation. But most of all, I find a gorgeous palette of colors in the winter sky - from deep blues, to intense white, to ominous greys - and the occasional trickle of golden sunlight reflecting off it all.
