I just moved from Takoma Park, Maryland to Cordova, Alaska, but I anticipate quite a colorful, if long, winter. Growing up, I remember taking a snowy cross-country ski trail at night outside our home in upstate New York. The full moon shining through the trees illuminated the snow and the forest showing us a winter palette of purples, frosty whites, chocolate browns and dark, dark greens.
