Twist Style Friday: Iana

Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.

Well, now that it's March, winter has struck Toronto at full force. I was pretty grumpy about it for most of this week, but yesterday I went for a long walk and the sun was shining full force and reflecting off all the fresh clean snow. It wasn't windy so it wasn't too cold and I remembered that I actually love so much about winter. You can't really drape yourself in opulent cashmere and silk in the sticky summertime heat (unless you work in one of those offices that prefers to refrigerate it's employees).

It could also be that I did aquafit twice this week and the endorphins are tipping me even further into optimism than usual. I'm pretty cheery despite a lingering cough that has me sounding like a bar mitzvah and sipping lots of warm beverages. I've been wearing cozy knit scarves and shawls wrapped close around my throat to protect me from the chilly air. I wouldn't be mad about the sudden appearance of an Iana (just saying).

She boasts a spined crescent shape, graphic lace, sparkly beads, and a delicate edge. This beauty is luxurious as heck. I kind of want a black one, and I barely even believe in black.

Knitted shawls are just as suited to ripped denim as they are to opera gloves. So long as you knit with colors that match or complement your most worn items (or you don't care about matching), it's hard to think of an outfit that won't benefit from being wrapped in something this pretty.

How will you wear Iana?
