Twist Style Fridays: Bay Laurel

Every Friday we feature one of the garments from the magazine in a post about styling. We suggest different ways to wear the garment in question using mock-ups from Polyvore. We encourage readers to tell us what they think about these outfits via our Facebook page or Twitter, and if folks want to make their own outfits, please tweet them at us with the hashtag #twiststyle. You can find all of the Style Friday posts here.

I had a lot of day yesterday, friends. I ripped and restarted a sock I'm taking a stab at designing, I saw a stunning and impactful art show, bought myself a hot pink notebook, and went to a workshop called "trauma survivors in love." Somewhere in there I also ate a hot dog and a lot of grapes and listened to the new episode the West Wing Weekly (the hosts interview Marlee Matlin, who is a genius babe). I also practiced my autoharp, which these days mostly looks like me playing Sea of Love over and over and over and over again.

I had to bust out a lot of wool to get out of the house this morning. I have a few solid sweaters, but right now I want a million. Especially ones that have subtle patterning, long sleeves, and are a good weight for layering, like Bay Laurel.

I love the large-scale leaf patterning, and the neckline shape.

Do you want to be a vaguely 90s utilitarian? A grown-up cartoon? A sort of fancy punk? Bay Laurel can do that.
