1. Why are you a designer?

I can't help it. I've been designing clothes since I was six years old and knitwear since I was eight. It's in my DNA.

2. If you could go back in time to when you started designing, what advice would you give yourself?

If I could go back in time, I would advise myself to back even further in time so that I could start a career in designing much earlier in my life. Who knew that work could be so much fun!

3. What is your worst knitting habit?

It's universal, I think … lots of starting, not enough finishing.

4. If you weren't a designer, what do you think you'd be doing with all the extra time you'd have?

Lately I've developed a nearly obsessive interest in hooking … it can be quite an art form, and one gets to work with lots of beautiful hand-dyed strips of felted fabric in really creative ways. So … more fun with wool!

5. Finish this sentence:  If everyone knew how to knit...

Women might be more patient, men might be gentler and children might be more intelligent, and who knows what amazing things might come of all that?!
