Construction Notes: This dress begins with the midriff band. Stitches are picked up along the band for the back and fronts, which are worked separately to the shoulders. The skirt is picked up at the other side of the band and worked in the round to the lower edge. The midriff band, lower edge and sleeve cuffs are worked in a slip-stitch pattern. The dress closes with a row of delicate buttons up the back, fastened with crocheted loops. A lace inset is sewn to the front of the dress and embellished with decorative buttons. The lace pattern is given in chart form only. |
