Needles & Notions:
Size 5 US / 3.5 mm needles
Several yards of waste yarn (preferably
the same weight as working yarn in smooth cotton in a contrasting color), two cable needles, tapestry needle

Gauge: 12 sts and 16 rows = 1 ⅜” / 3.5 cm wide and 2” / 5 cm high in large knotted cable pattern (see Chart B, black solid outline)
8 sts and 16 rows = 1 ½” / 4 cm wide and 2” / 5 cm high in double garter stitch (see Chart B, black dotted outline)
21 sts and 32 rows = 4” / 10 cm in double garter stitch
