Free pattern sites are wonderful resources for knitters and designers on the web, but Twist Collective is something different. It’s a big world, and we believe there is room in it for many different ideas. Twist Collective believes good design comes from hard work, and such effort should be valued and compensated accordingly. We came to the prices after careful consideration of the amount of time involved in our own work and the work of the designers. We hope you agree.

We make every effort to assure that our patterns are error free, but sometimes things slip through. When this happens and it affects the knitability of a pattern, we send out automated emails to buyers to allow them to download a "clean" version. Please be sure to include detailed information as well as the version number of the pattern (located at the bottom of each pattern page near the copyright information).

If you are experiencing problems with the website, often restarting your computer is enough. If you are still having problems with the site, you can email us the OS and browser you are using, as well as the problem you are having, and we will see what we can do. Please email this info to . You can also try using Firefox with which our site has fewer glitches than other browsers. Remember, we will see your email first before we see any forums. 

Twist Collective considers yarn store owners and staff to be our best ambassadors, and we also understand that patterns generate yarn sales.  

We are sorry that given our generous percentage split with the designers we represent and production costs, our own profit margin is too slim to allow us to print and ship copies ourselves, but this is one of the reasons why the best designers send us their very best work.  If you encouraged your customers to seek us out themselves, then they establish an email link with us for pattern updates and revisions, should there ever be a need for such a thing.

However, our current understanding with stores who wish to offer our patterns themselves is that they can set up a PayPal account and buy the pattern from our site on behalf of the customer. Many shops understand how a good pattern can move yarn, and feel the cost of printing is worth the yarn sales. If a shop wants to include an image of a pattern in their newsletters, we ask simply that they make note in the text that the picture came from Twist Collective, to identify the name of the designer as well as the photographer.  We love our designers and want them to get every credit they deserve.

We really appreciate the enthusiasm that has greeted our issues.  We have thought about how we can afford to both pay designers fairly and to gratify the pattern collectors with a “buy them all” or a “buy several for less” option.  Because of our generous pay structure, we don't have the margin to do that.
