Construction Notes: Worked
both in the round and back-and-forth, bodies are knit from tail to head
using short rows to shape the belly and head, and bobbles made along
back of tail and body. Eyes, arms and legs made separately, then
attached. Pieces are stuffed as you go. Cardigan body is worked in one
piece with stitches placed on hold for armholes, and hood grafted
together at top. Sleeves are picked up at the armholes and worked down.
Button loop closures.

Yarn: Cascade Yarns Cascade 220 Wool (220 yds / 201 m per 3 ½ oz / 100 g skein; 100% Peruvian highland wool). Niles (Boy crocodile): 1 skein in 8903 Primaverra (G) and 1 skein in 8905 Robin Egg Blue (Bl). Cleo (Girl crocodile): 1 skein in 8903 Primaverra (G) and 1 skein in 7802 Cerise (P).
Needles & Notions: Size 2 US / 2.75 mm set of double pointed needles and pair of straight needles; cable needle; tapestry needle; three stitch holders; stuffing; black embroidery floss; two ¾” / 2 cm buttons for each cardigan (samples used custom buttons made by Meeting Street Designs, purchased at marymarsh.etsy.com); two 3/8” / 10 mm yellow buttons for eyes of each crocodile
Gauge: 28 sts and 40 rows = 4” / 10 cm over Stockinette stitch (unstuffed). This toy is knitted at a tight gauge to keep its stuffing from showing.
